We find Nutting stones on the farm from time to time. They were made by the indigenous people of this area for thousands of years. A nut was placed in the hollow and hit with a stick or another stone, causing the nut to split without damaging the meats.
The stones inspired our third product, Nutting Stone Whiskey which is scheduled for release in 2023. A longer aged whiskey with a focus on the American white oak almond flavor peaks. The flavors appear when toasting at a higher temperature and a bit later in the process. We have an additional four grain balance that will bring the nutty backgrounds into play. We’ll tell you all about it when it comes of age.
This whiskey is made in memory of the indigenous people that used the farms springs for millennia and represent yet another spirit that once occupied this land.
